Best time for Triund Trek

One of the reasons for the popularity of the Triund Trek is that it happens most of the year. Although it rains heavily for a few days during heavy rains making it difficult during the monsoon season. With the exception of a few days of high winter you are welcome to step into the Triund at any time. The Triund is virtually inaccessible during a few winter days due to snowfall and closes for a few weeks in January and February. The best time for the Triund trip is during the summer months of March to June and September to mid-December when the weather is nice.

Is the Triund tour open in December and January?

Triund remains open until 31 December usually and until the 1st week of January at times. It depends on how much snow falls at the beginning of the winter season and those days. How to get to the Triund Trek

To get to Triund hill, you must first get to McLeodganj. There are regular Volvo buses to McLeodganj from Delhi / Chandigarh and tickets can be booked online. The bus usually takes 11 to 12 hours to get to McLeodganj from Delhi. McLeodganj is about 8 km from Dharamshala and you can take a taxi or bus (every half hour) to get there. Pathankot railway station is the nearest railway station and you can reach McLeodganj by bus or by shared cable from there. The nearest airport is in Gaggal, about 17 kilometers from McLeodganj.The travel report is in Dharmkot, Mcleodganj, about a mile from the bus stop. Triund Trek Level Difficulty Level

Triund trek is considered an easy trip and is considered a good option for a beginner. The whole journey is about 9 km and that 4 km is steep but easy. However, the last 2 km can be difficult for some. The trail is famous for 22 curves. Your eligibility will not be challenged but you will want to finish. There are canteens and tea shops as you go upstairs. If you need to take a place to stop a hole or have a cup of tea to catch your breath you can find it in those stores.

Things to Do on the Triund Trek

You do not need to carry any of the advanced gear of the Triund trip. If you do not plan to spend your night at a conference then the list is very small. The Triund trek is a very easy journey except for the last 1 mile steep climb. Some people reach the top in less than 3 hours again. You just need to be mentally fit to complete this journey. People of all ages from children over 5 years old to adults make a trip to the Triund. But bad weather can only aggravate the problem. Extra care during hiking should be taken during the rainy season and winter. Make sure you carry raincoats and appropriate seasonal clothing.
