MADISON COUNTY, Miss. (WJTV) -As reported by the investigation was opened by authorities after an unidentified corpse was found inside Lake Caroline on Tuesday morning.

Alex Breeland, the Madison County officer who was responsible for Caroline Drowning Lake reported that a man’s corpse was discovered just before 9 o’clock at the time of morning. According to information provided to the Madison County Sheriff’s Office, the deceased was identified as an 18-year-old Jelani Porter.

The Arrest

Olive Branch police made arrests in connection with a carjacking attempt which failed. The 4th of July police were sent for Lake Caroline after receiving a report that a person could had drowned on the shores of the Lake. A body found dead in Caroline Lake has been identified as belonging to an owner of an ice-cream shop.

Due to the storms that hit the area the night of Monday, officials at the Madison County Sheriff’s Office on Caroline Drowning Lake and the MDWFP were forced to suspend the search for the missing person.
